YOUTH ON THE MOVE
CONCEPT HOTELROOM FOR 'THE LOBBY', GENT
Creneau International was asked by the organisation of hotelfair ‘The Lobby’ to create three prototype hotelrooms to show the new trends in hospitality to visitors. We decided to work with three different budgets and I worked on the lowcost/budget hotelroom. By using a surprising arrangement of furniture and unexpected materials I wanted to proof that a budget hotelroom doesn’t have to be colourless and drab.I took inspiration from the ‘build-your-own cabin’-feel of days gone by when I was a kid, where all sorts of oddments from the attic were used, and created a multifunctional piece of furniture that could be placed in a any kind of room and make it an instant hotel room!
